Job Description:

Maintain Your Home is a rapidly growing startup located in the greater Lehigh Valley that offers a different approach to home repair & maintenance. Maintain Your Home offers a unique subscription service that provides all of the routine maintenance items needed for the upkeep of our customer’s home including changing out filters, cleaning dryer vents, appliance maintenance and more. In
addition, we offer one-off services to help with a wide variety of home repair and improvement projects around the house. We’re truly a one-stop shop for all things related to home maintenance and repair.

As our Home Improvement Technician you will be responsible for handling the entire lifecycle of a home repair project from gathering needed materials, performing the work, and receiving payment from the customer upon completion of the project. You’ll be highly autonomous, so it is important that you are well organized, timely, and responsible.

You’ll also come to us with the desire to grow with our company and are willing to look at the home services industry from a completely different perspective.

Responsibilities:

• Execute remodeling projects such as a bathroom/kitchen remodels
• Perform carpentry tasks such as installing/repairing trim, installing windows, and installing doors
• Install/repair decks and patios
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces as needed
• Repair/finish drywall surfaces
• Perform general maintenance and repairs in residential and commercial properties
• Conduct routine inspections to identify any issues or repairs needed
• Perform routine maintenance items on a recurring basis
• Provide accurate estimates to customers as needed
• Repair or replace broken or damaged fixtures, appliances, and equipment

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a carpenter/remodeler with crossover experience in other trades
• Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods for residential properties
• Proficient in using various tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Have a driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and insurance
• Be able to pass a background check
• Must have/own day to day tools of the trade (specialty tools will be provided by the company)

As our Junior Technician you’ll be working with one of our lead technicians on various jobs assigned to them and perform routine maintenance items on your own. This will consist of a wide variety of tasks including general labor, cleanup, and assistance with performing the actual work under the supervision of your lead. This position is a great opportunity for someone who is newer to the space, but wants to gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of different home improvement tasks.

The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic startup environment, have a strong desire to learn, and is a hard worker. Moreover, you should demonstrate a genuine eagerness to evolve alongside our company, embracing a fresh perspective on the home services industry. As a Junior technician you’ll gain valuable skills needed to ascend into a higher paying lead role with time.

• Completion of a vocational school or similar program is preferred
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Ability to use various tools and equipment
• Willingness to take direction and learn from experienced professionals
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance preferred
• Ability to pass a background check
